Well, you won’t be sliding at warp speed down Portage Avenue in downtown Winnipeg but you will be sliding just a bit further down Portage Avenue at Adrenaline Adventures when Slide the City comes to town July 16, 2016.
“Slide the City is a family friendly slip-and-slide water party event,” says the notice . “There will be live music, food, drinks, water, and of course the biggest slip and slide ever to hit asphalt. Don’t worry, we’ve got it padded. This slide’s got more cushion than your grandpa’s orthopedic sneakers.”
Slide the City is that humble backyard vinyl banana peel on steroids. They bring 1,000 feet of slick inflated vinyl (the biggest of its kind!) to the city streets, with live music, entertainment, and local vendors.
Like most larger than life rides, all sliders must be 5 years old and over 46 inches tall. Tubes are for single sliders only, and lap riding is not allowed. If your child meets the age and height requirements, ensure they are capable of sliding 1,000 feet on their own tube! All minors must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
