In 1995, a band named Hootie and the Blowfish covered a sweet little ditty by Canadian rockers 54-40 propelling this song into the stratosphere and onto an official Friends CD (that I may have owned).
Baby Ran has always been a personal favourite. And if you’re a diehard fan then you’ll remember when they stretched their musical muscles to record with Coco Love Alcorn as Paloma with an eclectic CD that showed the depth of their talents with electronic dance beats, house, and jazz elements. One of my favourite live shows ever (they played Wise Guys on February 14, 2001 I think).
Needless to say, 54-40 songs have been a staple in our house for many years and we took the kids to see them at the Red River Ex a few years ago.
We’re so excited 54-40 will be in Winnipeg June 22 at Nashville’s Winnipeg and we want YOU to be there too! Call the babysitter and get date night on the calendar.
