Jo Koy. The first time I saw him on YouTube I was in tears laughing. Being part Filipino, I could relate. Oh, how I could relate to his Filipino mom stories. I think we have lived the same lives. If you have a Filipino mom, then you know what I mean.
He quickly SOLD OUT his first show at the Club Regent Event Centre. Then he SOLD OUT a second show. So they added a third show… You guessed it. SOLD OUT. And then a fourth show–for which there a few tickets left. GET SOME. You don’t want to miss this guy.
Jo Koy has come a long way from his modest beginnings at a Las Vegas coffee house. As one of today’s vastly growing stand-up comedians, Koy sells-out comedy clubs & theaters across the nation with his infectious, explosive energy onstage. The comedian pulls inspiration from his family, specifically his son (and his YouTube-famous Filipino mom), and inspires humor across all boundaries.
Koy, who was raised in Tacoma, WA, credits his mother for his comedic and acting talents. She encouraged him to participate in school talent shows and to hold impromptu performances for his family and friends. This loving support led to performances at a Las Vegas coffee house, and inspired a move to Los Angeles.
From performing on the Tonight Show in 2005 (where he received a standing ovation), more recently Koy has appeared on over 100 episodes of Chelsea Lately as a season regular roundtable guest. Other appearances include: The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, @Midnight with Chris Hardwick, Spike TV’s Adam Carolla & Friends Build Stuff Live, Celebrity Page TV, VH1, World’s Funniest Fails, The Joy Behar Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Last Call with Carson Daly and Jamie Foxx: Laffapalooza.
This year, Koy released his 3rd comedy special, Jo Koy: Live from Seattle as a Netflix Original on March 28th world-wide. Currently Koy can be seen on the new Kevin Hart & Lionsgate platform LaughOutLoud.com as the host of the non-scripted series “Inglorious Pranksters” that launched this August with new episodes available every Thursday.
